Miss Petra Vaporis

Instructor

Biography

Petra Vaporis is a graduate of Hellenic College Holy Cross, where she earned a degree in Liberal Studies with a focus on Theology and minors in Literature, History, and Philosophy. She was the first ever recipient of a certificate of Sacred arts at HCHC. Her theological thesis explored Mary as an exemplar theologian through the study of Luke 1. Petra also holds an associate's degree in World languages from Middlesex community college, where she studied Arabic, Greek, and Italian. Scholé Academy has been an integral part of Petra’s own formation, as she was a student in middle and high school. This is where she first encountered Catechism and Byzantine Chant and was formed in the pursuit of beauty, goodness, and truth. As a teacher, Petra hopes to offer her students that same gift: an education rooted in wonder, love of what is good and beautiful, and a love of the Church. In her free time Petra enjoys pursuing her hobbies of iconography, calligraphy, music, fashion, and virtually anything creative. She is especially passionate about exploring ways with which one can be led to healing and wholeness, and ultimately toward God.
